About WAUC

The West Australian Undersea Club (WAUC) is the oldest Spearfishing club based in Perth, with a rich history, the earliest mentions we see of the club are from 1964. Our current members are from a wide range of backgrounds ranging from young novice divers in their teens, through to old salts that have been diving since the ‘good old days’. WAUC is Australia’s biggest spearfishing club with over 300+ financial members.

Meetings are held every 2nd Wednesday of the month alternating from North to South of the river. We welcome all new members.

WAUC has a heavy focus on selectable and sustainable fishing and encourages all spearfishers to be aware of the delicate nature of all marine environments and to respect it. WAUC hold monthly meetings to discuss club issues and is a great avenue for prospective members to come and see what the club is about. Matters discussed are past and upcoming trips/competitions, fisheries possession limits, safety aswell as a chance for members to sell unwanted gear and a chance for a casual catch up with fellow members over a beer.

If you’re a novice diver wanting to learn more about spearfishing, get onto some great fish or if you’re a seasoned spearfisher wanting a club to belong to and meet more people who share the same passion, WA Undersea is the club for you. WAUC regularly holds club trips, up North and down South, club-only competitions and metro dive days where you’ll have the chance to get onto other club member’s boats and chase that elusive species that you may be yet to shoot.
