Smash with tenderising hammer lots till it is like a minced patty lol
flour, egg and bread crumb, then shallow fry.

OR just cut thin slices (3mm thick)
Hot wok with Garlic, Chilli and butter.

Cant remember if i have done the above with salt, pepper and dust in a bag of flour before but give it a try.
I havent been out to collect abs since I moved from Greo.

As soon as legal to(200 metres from waters edge, landside) shuck while still alive and pound (abalone that is)with mallett or 4 be until there are shallow splits in meat. Works by not allowing rigor to set in.
For Roeii use whole, for Greens and Browns cut into bitsize pieces.
Dust with flour, dip into beaten egg mix and cover with either breadcrumbs, panko(Japanese breadcrumbs) or crushed salt and vinegar crisps.
Roughly chop 6 cloves of garlic and allow to slow simmer in oil for 20 minutes. Low heat is best to infuse the oil.
Remove garlic and fry abs til golden brown. Drain on rack and eat.
