With 10 Pairs entering Rusty’s Spearfishing Challenge the weekend just gone in Albany the Albany boys turned out in force with also a few venturing down from Perth to attend as well
The weather turned it on with the locals referring to it as an “Albany Glass off” with variable winds but tending mostly to light South Easterly winds and swell at 2.1m the conditions were great providing access anywhere for people with all sized boats and or access from the shore. Water temperature was 19.5. Conditions were overcast with the odd spit of rain.… Read more

Rottnest Cray Comp 2017 results

What a cracking day at the 2017 Gage Roads Rottnest Cray competition! We had a great turn out with over 50 entrants. Even sweeter was the free BBQ and cracking a frosty beer by Gage Roads which was generously donated for all participants on the day!

Wind was a stiff SW in the morning blowing around 12-15knts easing to eventually 8-10knts for the most of the morning, (until the journey home of course). Many boats came in with the same outcome, that they just didn’t see many big crays. However, Shane Fleming, (the silent assassin), who had mentioned to me prior to the weigh in, that he had had an “ok day”.… Read more

Glynn Dromey Pairs Competition – 29th April, 2017

Arriving at the Lancelin beach sign on point with the sun yet to be seen it was more like a scene from the south coast; it was freezing! At this point I was wishing I had bought my 5mm winter suit rather than the 3mm summer suit! As the pairs began to arrive the anticipation was building. 14 pairs signed in and after a quick safety meeting the 2017 Glynn Dromey pairs spearfishing competition was underway. Quick off the blocks were last years champs Mael and Troy in the nifty v17r; they had set the bar high last year and weren’t about to lower it this time around.… Read more
