Well, it’s that time of year again when the Glynn Dromey memorial competition is going to be held this Saturday, it’s on!!!!!

Please note that there is a sign on as per the attached, this WAUC GD comp is open to the general public.

There are some bumper prizes this year on offer and the only way to score one is to get involved!

Please note that this year the GD comp has now incorporated the AUF WA state pairs competition for AUF members, you don’t need to be an AUF member to compete in the GD.… Read more

HECs Aquatic Spearfishing competition

HECS Aquatic and the WA Undersea club are hyped to present this years Dampier Spearfishing Competition. Last year was a roaring success and we have another treat in for you this year. We are also excited to release the Dampier-2018-species-list!

As usual, we have some amazing prizes for the winner’s thanks to major sponsors HECS. Entry is free and open to all financial WAUC members. Always a great day for our Dampier brethren and a great excuse for a road trip for the Perth crew!

With 10 Pairs entering Rusty’s Spearfishing Challenge the weekend just gone in Albany the Albany boys turned out in force with also a few venturing down from Perth to attend as well
The weather turned it on with the locals referring to it as an “Albany Glass off” with variable winds but tending mostly to light South Easterly winds and swell at 2.1m the conditions were great providing access anywhere for people with all sized boats and or access from the shore. Metro lotto pairs comp

 This weekend coming we are planning to run the Metro Lotto Pairs Spearfishing Competition. Pairs for this comp are randomly generated. 
To be entered in this comp you need to PM Michael Treble with your interest in being involved. 

You will need to let me know the following and with this information I will allocate you into either category A or B. 

Experienced Spearo Y/N 
Do you have access to a boat for the comp u can use Y/N 
You do need to do the above by Friday morning at the latest prior to the random pairs being generated. 
The pairs will then be put together from either category on Friday at approx lunchtime. 

There will be no official first, second or third prize given out instead all prizes will be given out using a random number generator.… Read more

Rottnest Cray Comp 2017 results


What a cracking day at the 2017 Gage Roads Rottnest Cray competition! We had a great turn out with over 50 entrants. Even sweeter was the free BBQ and cracking a frosty beer by Gage Roads which was generously donated for all participants on the day!

Wind was a stiff SW in the morning blowing around 12-15knts easing to eventually 8-10knts for the most of the morning, (until the journey home of course). Many boats came in with the same outcome, that they just didn’t see many big crays. Rottnest Cray Comp – 18 November 2017


The WA Undersea Club and Gage Roads Brewing Co, present the 2017 Rottnest Cray Competition. This annual competition is a favourite amongst the WA Freedive fraternity. Crayfish weigh in is held on the picturesque Rottnest island, at the former ammunition jetty, on the south west side of Thomson Bay.

Entry is free for financial WAUC members and winners will be up for some great prizes. The club will also have a free lunch waiting for you at the weigh in.

Thanks to Gage Roads Brewing, their generous sponsorship of the competition will ensure winners wont go home thirsty.

Prizes for heaviest crays (1st, 2nd and 3rd) lightest legal cray (with all limbs attached) and a randomly drawn mystery weight prize for any cray weighed.… Read more
